How to Make Homemade Shampoo
Why Homemade Shampoo?
If you have been reading this blog for any amount of time, you are probably well educated on the various ways that commercial shampoo is not exactly a health boost. Many shampoo and conditions contains various synthetic foaming agents, along with preservatives. It’s just like many other products, if you buy it instead of make it, you are going to get a bunch of junk ingredients along with it.
Excuse me sir, I specifically requested no junk in my stuff.
How to Make It
This is probably the easiest thing you will ever make. It will take you all of 5 minutes and requires no lengthy brewing or anything. You only need 2 ingredients – water and baking soda.
That’s right. How many shampoos can you find in the store that only have 2 ingredients? You may think this will make the worst shampoo ever. Sure, it won’t smell like a mango kiwi platypus dream or whatever, but it cleans just as well. Especially if you are trying to save a few bucks and save your health along the way. Make a batch and compare it to the quality of wash from your commercial shampoos, we dare you!
Mix 1 tablespoon of soda with 1 cup of water, you can even pour the mixture into a shampoo bottle so you will feel more conformable pouring it on your head.
How to Use it
Put it on your head, duh.
Shake the bottle before you use it and splash directly onto your head and hair. Gently massage into the scalp for a minute or two, then rinse. Boom, your hair is clean as clean can get, and it only cost you about 8 cents.
